Trouble with your debit card? We wish to advise that there is still an ongoing issue at some merchant locations, as a result of a software update on their point of sale devices. Unfortunately, this is resulting in some cards being declined.  Interac is working with these merchants to implement a fix for this issue. More details are available here.

 In the meantime, if you experience an issue with your card splitting your transaction into smaller amounts may allow for contactless transactions (under $100). We also recommend trying to have cash on hand as a backup until this issue is resolved. We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Collabria Mastercard at Gas Pumps: It has been reported that PIN entries at gas pumps accepting payment cards could reject for no apparent reason. We understand from Mastercard that these errors are random and are not limited to Collabria card products. They are being experienced across multiple card issuers in Canada. Mastercard is presently investigating, identifying the source and resolution to this problem. In the meantime, we further understand that using the gas station kiosk/convenience store will allow cardholders to “pre-authorize” or pay in advance for their gas.
